How To Maintain Social Distancing During Your Wedding

How To Maintain Social Distancing During Your Wedding

Many of our customers are opting for smaller, more intimate weddings by holding them at one of our many picturesque parks. This gives them more space to socialize in promoting social distancing, and they are saving a ton of money in the process. Here are some excellent locations in the nations’ capital.

How to Rent a Classic Wedding Limousine

Event Day Time

Define the date, time period that you want the car (from start to finish), and the location-by city, and state. This can be a little confusing if you don’t consider the time from when the limo company picks you up and drops you off at your final destination—not just the length of time at the event.

Is It Cool?

Does it have air conditioning, front, and rear? Washington DC climate during the summer months can be quite toasty even before you put a wedding dress on. Our Rolls-Royce has AC.

Maximize Your Ride

Has the limo company suggested locations for a photo op? We live in one of the most picturesque parts of the United States with all of the special landmarks that are publicly available in our area. Which one is right for you? Many companies might not mention this to you.

Business Or Pleasure?

Does the chauffeur wear formal attire? All of Regal’s drivers are required to wear formal attire for your wedding event.

Top hat service for the bride and groom in the only Bentley Mulsanne L for rent in the world.

Beware of Conversion Limousines

Ascertain if the car you are considering is authentic. Does it have the original Rolls-Royce/Bentley engine or is it a Chevy/Ford conversion? Is it a steel or plastic body?

Schedule a Private Viewing

Does the limo company allow you to see the limo in person? If you have any doubts schedule a private viewing of the car by the owner. Regal Limousine Service, Inc. invites our customers to have a peek at what they will rent. This isn’t a national chain and it’s not an everyday event you are celebrating; you should take a look. Come and learn the history of the car from the owner.

You won’t really know unless you schedule a private viewing—bring your best friend “to-be” (or personal support staff) and get cozy.

Photo Study Guide? What Photo Study Guide?

Does the limo company have a study guide for photographers? The highest and best use of the Rolls-Royce or Bentley is to have the photographer position the bride and the groom near the front of the car with something nice in the background for their wedding album/website. The front of the car is the part you are paying for. Any other area of the car, like through a window is also special but the front of the car truly accentuates the beauty of the bride and groom with class and style.

Beware of Clunkers and Junkers

What is the condition of the vehicle? Does it have visible rust showing through the paint or sound like a helicopter? Make sure you have them start the car when you go to preview it and check for body damage; this body damage will appear in your photographs.

Beware of Imposters

Is it properly named? Some limo companies parade an Austin Princess taxicab (click here to learn to identify one) as a Rolls-Royce or even a Bentley—good heaven’s, how gauche!

Is It Insured?

Is the car owned licensed and insured as a commercial vehicle or is it borrowed from an individual trying to make a payment? Vintage limousines are very expensive to maintain. As such, some owners have decided to rent their vehicles out to help circumvent the cost of owning them. They do not have commercial insurance and thus leave you with that liability in case of accident or injury.

Fair Pricing

Quotes range in the DC area from $567.20 two hours (see our rates here) to $17,000 a day. Are you really getting the most value by renting a “conversion” style car or would you rather have an authentic British Rolls-Royce or Bentley?

The author, John G Bays, President of Regal Limousine Service, Inc., has over 25 years of experience in owning/leasing eight British classic cars. These cars ranged from 38 to 83 years old. Mr. Bays is an octogenarian, so he kept the best for the last—The authentic 1964 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III. He continues to service weddings all over the National Capital area. He has single handedly allowed more people to enjoy his Rolls-Royce and Bentley limos than anyone else in America (over 15,000). As one customer said:

“What you’re doing with your Rolls-Royce’s and Bentley’s, John, by making them available to the public for their use and enjoyment, is tantamount to the Nobles of Europe opening their castles to the common man.”
